Media aandacht Mary

CROWN Princess Mary of Denmark was in the US yesterday to speak about the need to end violence against women.
The Tasmanian-born princess was one of the key speakers at the World Conference of Women's Shelters, which is under way in Maryland.
The huge event has been organised by the American Network to End Domestic Violence and activists and support workers from around the world are attending.
The aim of the conference is to share knowledge and tools for ending violence against women, not only in countries where women's rights are oppressed, but also the US, Europe and elsewhere.
Princess Mary is a patron of LOKK, which is an umbrella organisation for women's crisis centres in Denmark.
She addressed the delegates at the opening of the event and she also attended a forum on gender equality in Latin America and domestic violence at the International Development Bank in nearby Washington, DC.
